Folder Option Not Showing ??

Method 1:

Go to registry editor by running regedit in the run box.
Go to this key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoft
WindowsCurrentVersionExplorerAdvanced

In the right hand area, double click hidden and change the value to 1.
Now you’re all set to go. Check it in your tools menu if the changes have taken effect.

Method 2:

1. Click “Start” -> “Run…” (or press Windows key + R)
2. Type “regedit” and click “Ok”.
3. Find the key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorer
AdvancedFolderHiddenSHOWALL
4. Look at the “CheckedValue” key… This should be a DWORD key. If it isn’t,delete the key.
5. Create a new key called “CheckedValue” as a DWORD (hexadecimal) with a value of 1.
6. The “Show hidden files & folders” check box should now work normally. Enjoy!

Method 3:

1- Click Start –> Run –> regsvr32 /i browseui.dll –> enter
A confirmation message will appear like given below
2- Click Start –> Run –> regsvr32 /i shell32.dll
Wait for the confirmation and click OK.

Method 4:

If none of the above methods work, please download our Smart Virus Remover from here:
Smart Virus Remover

Using this Virus Remover please restore your Windows settings and your show hidden files and folders will be set to default.
Open the "Registry Editor" ("Start" >> "Run", then type "regedit" and Enter).
Expand to the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced
If the value "SuperHidden" exists, double-click on it to edit its value to (0 = show hidden, 1 = do not show)
If the value "SuperHidden" does not exist, create it as follows
Name: SuperHidden
Type: DWORD
Value: 0
(0: show hidden, 1: do not show)

------------------------------------OR----------------------------------------------

Go to the following registry key:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\Hidden\SHOWALL

DELETE the value CheckedValue in the right window. (Its type should be REG_SZ and data should be 2.)

Now create a new DWORD value called CheckedValue (same as above, except that the type is REG_DWORD). Modify the value data to 1 (0x00000001).

This should let you change the "Hidden Files and Folders" option.

Ok .. that seems simple then .. Just go to Start –> Run –> regedit. The registry editor will open. Go to the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows
\CurrentVersion\policies\Explorer
In the right hand pane, see if there is a value called NoFolderOptions
If yes then change it’s value to 0.
1 means hide options and 0 means show options.

You know that your friend has kept a very important file in your computer but he has kept it as a hidden file. Now you are in the need of the file so you went to Tools-> Folder Option to enable viewing of idden file and folder. But much to your dismay the Folder Option is not there and you went to Control panel but you could not find it there too. Now what you have to do is just read on this post for the solution…

There are many reasons that the folder option is not available to a user in Windows. One of that is due to a registry setting.
1. You can enable Folder Options by simply editing the Windows Registry!
- Click on Start and Run and type regedit in RUN dialog box and click on OK.
- Go to the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\E xplorer - On the right pane check for a DWORD value named NoFolderOptions. If it is there, change the value to zero or delete it. Now go to Tools -> Folder Option and you are done. The Folder Option is there.
2. If you do not want to take the risk of edition the registry then downlaod the registry tweak tool from the following site:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs_edits/folderoptions.reg
3. If you are unable to access the registry editor, then it may so happen that due to security purpose, it has been disabled on your computer. You can enable it again by following any of following methods:
- Click on Start and Run and Type gpedit.msc in Run dialog box and goto:
User Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> System
In right-side pane, set "Prevent access to Registry editing tools" to either Not Configured or Disabled by right clicking on it.
OR
- Just type following (better to copy and paste the string) in RUN dialog box and press ENTER:
REG add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v DisableRegistryTools /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f After you enable registry Editor, please perform the initial steps to bring back the folder option. And access your friend's hidden file.
